Syracuse, NY (October 19, 2008) – The Syracuse Crunch Announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Dan LaCosta to the Crunch.
LaCosta, 22, has appeared in three games with the Crunch this season, posting a 3-0-0-0 record with a 2.18 goals-against average and .928 save percentage. LaCosta played 35 minutes and stopped 15 of 17 shots Saturday night in Nashville in relief of Blue Jackets starter, Fredrik Norrena.
A native of Labrador City, Newfoundland, LaCosta was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 93rd overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Crunch continue their 15th AHL season on Friday, October 24 for a home match-up against Binghamton and Saturday, October 25, as they take on Rochester at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
