CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Checkers will celebrate their home opener which is festively titled Nightmare on Trade Street in just 15 days as the home opener lands on Halloween night at 8:00 p.m. against the Augusta Lynx.

The Checkers open the season on a six game road swing before the home opener. On Friday, Oct. 17 the team will battle the Florida Everblades twice in as many nights. The Checkers will travel to Mississippi to take on the Sea Wolves the following week for three games before finishing off the trip with a game against the Gwinnett Gladiators. The Checkers are getting ready for their 16th season of play as a member of the ECHL. Opening night will take place on Halloween against the Augusta Lynx at a special 8 p.m. start. In the team’s 15-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 11 times including four consecutive playoff appearances to date.
