Donte Greene Stats From Last Nights Game

For those curious, the Houston Rockets lost to the Washington Wizards last night 80-75 in overtime. Donte had 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block and 5 turnovers in 36 minutes played, according to NBA.com. He was 5 for 19 from the field and 3 for 9 from the three point line and 2 for 2 from the free throw line. I did not see the game but that looks like again, his shot selection was a bit off or he was trying to force too much. I think Donte has great potential and can do great things in this league and many top level guys take a lot of shots too but if he wants to be the guy hitting the open shot when Yao and McGrady are being covered, he is going to have to show he is dependable enough to make it or they will not pass it to him and try other ways to manage. Then again if that was a batting average, he would still be hitting almost .300 which isn't too bad but 5 turnovers is not a great help either since I guess if we are converting it to baseball stats, that would be 5 errors. It is summer league though so give the young man some time to work with a higher level of talent and get in the groove. These guys have a lot of pressure on them as first round picks and I am not an NBA fan but I for one would love to see another Orange succeed.

By the way, Syracuse native Andray Blatche led the Wizards with a game high 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
